Ted Patton


Ted Patton has been coaching since 1997, and his time at Robert E. Lee began in 2018. He coaches inside linebackers, is a track coach, and teaches Reading. His coaching accomplishments include a 2007 State Finalist appearance at Elysian Fields as head coach and Athletic Director, as well as being named 2007 District 19-2A Coach of the Year. He has coached in Arp and Malakoff, Texas as well, earning trips to state semi-finalist and quarter-finalist games. He has served on the Executive Board of the Texas HS Powerlifting Assoc. since 2001, where he is currently the state secretary.

He attended Cisco High School where he earned All-District Defensive End and 1st Team All District Center in basketball. He earned his Associates Degree at Cisco Junior College where he was NJCAA 1st Team All-American Defensive End and an All-Conference Defensive End. He earned a BA from Baylor University where he was a defensive end and played in the 1991 Copper Bowl. In 2004, he played defensive end for the Wichita Falls Thunder, an arena football team. He is married to Jill, who works in admission for UT Tyler. They have two sons, Jack and Mark. Ted enjoys wake boarding, wake surfing, wood working and reading.
