Willie Williams began his coaching career in 1977. This season will mark his 22nd year at Robert E. Lee! He coaches cornerbacks, is an assistant basketball coach and teaches Physical Education. He graduated from Big Spring High School where he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. He earned a B.A. from Austin College and M.Ed. from Tarleton State University. At Austin College, he played football, basketball, and baseball, and was named All-Conference and All-American in football, All-Conference in basketball, and All-District in baseball. Some of his coaching accomplishments include helping coach a team to the state finals at Port Arthur Thomas Jefferson High School, an undefeated conference championship at Tartleton State Univer- stiy, and helping coach the Robert E. Lee Red Raiders to a State Championship in 2004. He has been named to the Big Spring High School Hall of Fame, the Austin College Hall of Honor, and the N.A.I.A Hall of Fame. Coach Williams and his wife Cindy, have two grown children, Jordan and Camden.
